As the Associate Director of Community Engagement, Ben DeAngelis coordinates volunteer opportunities for students, supports faculty in developing community-based learning courses, and fosters partnerships between Union College and community organizations. Prior to beginning this role in 2023, Ben directed programming for first-generation students in Schenectady, and coordinated civic and political engagement programming at several universities. His path to this work began when he was a community organizer in New York City and on Long Island, working on campaigns centered around students' rights, environmental protection, and consumer advocacy. Ben lives in Charlton with his wife and two children.
