Community Engagement Goals

Facilitate student growth and development through community engagement experiences.
Build meaningful long-term relationships with campus and community partners.
Collaborate with community partners to assess needs and identify ways Union College can best serve as a resource to support community efforts.

Students will gain understanding of the needs of the larger Schenectady community and beyond as a result of participating in community engagement activities.
Students who participate in community engagement initiatives will engage in reflection activities that demonstrate understanding of the importance of these connections and their impact on the community.
Students will develop leadership skills that support their personal growth as a result of their participation in community engagement.
Through their interaction with local organizations and community members, students will develop cross-cultural awareness that broadens their understanding of diverse communities.
