William Scudder Clay ’13 is this week’s Volunteer of the Week at the

William Clay

Kenney Community Center.

Clay recently led a group of friends to volunteer locally, helping out residents of Rotterdam Junction to clean up their homes in the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Irene. Clay, along with Ben Weiner ’12, Andrew McLain ’13, Austin Scaplen ‘12 and Oliver DeClue ‘13, helped residents salvage undamaged items from homes that were flooded from the Mohawk River.

“It was an incredibly emotional experience to see people having to say goodbye to their homes and how grateful these people were to those offering a hand,” Clay said.

Clay, from New York City, is an economics major. He is the junior student trustee, a member of the Executive Board of Student Forum and co-chair of First-Year Orientation for the class of 2015.
