On Friday, Feb. 17, Union trustee, Kathy Magliato ‘85 will be signing copies of her book, “Heart Matters” between noon and 1 p.m. in the Reamer Atrium, outside of the bookstore.
As one of only a handful of female heart surgeons in the country, Magliato’s book offers a collection of experiences in her medical field. Along with publishing a book based on her career, Magliato also works as a consultant, expert and national spokeswoman on heart disease in women.
Currently working as a surgeon at St. John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica, Calif., Magliato is also the hospital’s director of Women’s Cardiac Surgical Services.
All proceeds from her book’s purchases will be donated to the College’s chapter of the MEDLIFE program.
