In a combined effort of the Kenney Community Center and Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, there will be a bottle and can drive happening until the end of spring term.
A bin in Reamer Campus Center has been supplied for all can or bottle drop offs, and the Kenney Community Center will also take any donations.
Donations must only include empty water, soda and beer bottles or cans. Other types of plastic without the 5 cent deposit, or glass bottles, cannot be used.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be put toward raising money to renovate the South Avenue Park, which is located near campus on the corner of South Avenue and Park Place. Because the city does not upkeep the park, the center had maintained the playground.
New swings will be purchased with the raised funds, among other tasks such as painting and replacing broken equipment.
