Once again, the Taylor Music Center offers "music to fit your schedule" with a new concert series continuing on Monday, Oct. 8.
“These short concerts are designed to fit in between the work and school day and evening activities,” said Hilary Tann, the John Howard Payne Professor of Music. “Concerts last from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m., a perfect interlude. We want people to come and enjoy this sound bite."
The concerts are held in Emerson Hall, Taylor’s intimate recital hall, and will feature some of Union's instrumental teachers as well as an early music ensemble.
Performing a program, "Tour of Eastern Europe", Kristin Bacchiocchi Stewart and Palma Catravas, Union's own associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, will play the flute and piano, respectively.
The pair will first be performing six Stücke für Flöte und Klavier by Fikret Amirow, followed by Sonata for Flute and Piano by Erwin Schulhoff. The program will conclude with Suite Paysanne Hongroise by Béla Bartók.

Oct. 15: Lok Ng, piano, playing Beethoven, Chopin, Busoni and Liszt
Oct. 22: Sonnambula Viol Consort playing string music from 17th century England
Oct. 29: Harry Pellegrin, guitar, playing works by Tarrega, Ponce, Satie and others.
