Kenneth Adams, president of the Empire State Economic Development Corp., will be the keynote speaker at a symposium Monday, April 1 featuring the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium.
Adams, the former president and CEO of the Business Council of New York State, will discuss the upstate economy and regional economic development councils at 10:45 a.m. in College Park Hall.
His talk is free and open to the public.
The symposium will focus on four key areas: service learning, community engagement, sustainability and the upstate economy. Participants will share best practices and challenges to identify opportunities for collaboration with colleagues at other New York Six schools.
Breakout session at 12:30 p.m.:

At 1:45 p.m., a second breakout session with the same groups will discuss opportunities for collaboration. The closing session of the symposium begins at 3 p.m.
The symposium is free and open to all interested faculty and staff at Union and other consortium member institutions: Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, St. Lawrence University and Skidmore College.
