This week’s Kenney Community Center Volunteer of the Week is Ulcha Ulysse ’14.

Ulysse is one of the cofounders of Leading Ladies, a group that mentors local girls. Leading Ladies recently held a workshop on campus for a group of Mont Pleasant Middle School students. She is also a part of the Liberty Partnership Program that helps middle and high school students learn and grow both inside and outside the classroom. She is also an active member of UNITAS, an organization that promotes celebrating diversity on campus.

This past summer, Ulysse interned with both Residential Life and Senior Long Term Care and volunteered at the Heritage Home for Women. She participated in SLTC Tapping into the Arts, teaching 1940s jazz songs to elderly people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and mental illness.

Originally from Boston, Mass., she is on the pre-health track, pursuing a math and music interdepartmental major and biology minor. She is the head resident advisor of College Park Hall and a Posse Scholar.
