Volunteer of the Week: Cherry Chahal ’14

Cherry Chahal ’14 of Schenectady, N.Y., is the Kenney Community Center’s Volunteer of the Week.

An Obenzinger Scholar, Chahal is teaching elementary school students about nutrition, such as the food pyramid and MyPlate, twice a week through the Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady.

A neuroscience and French double major, Chahal is also a member of the Scholars program, as well as Co-President of Active Minds and Co-Director of Smoking Cessation Counseling. Additionally, she is a French writing tutor at the Writing Center, an Admissions interviewer and the Brigade Chair for MEDLIFE. This past winter break, Chahal participated in the London mini-term program.

She also spends her time volunteering at the Joan Nicole Prince Home.
