April 9 will be a day for the Union record books.
The College is launching a one-day fundraising campaign, A Day 4 U, on that Wednesday, aiming to build participation in giving to Union’s Annual Fund.
The first of its kind in Union’s history, the campaign will launch just after midnight on April 9th and run through the entire day. Staff, students and alumni will be reaching out to donors via social media, email, phone calls and events around the country.
“A Day 4 U is about bringing the Union community together and showing our pride and spirit through our collective support of the Annual Fund,” said Terri Cerveny, vice president for College Relations.
A matching pledge has been proposed from the College’s Board of Trustees. They will give an additional $409,000 to meet certain goals:
- 159,000 if 409 total donors is reached
- $125,000 if Union gets 49 donations from new donors
- $125,000 for 49 recurring gifts
The all-day event will feature high-profile callers taking donations, including President Stephen C. Ainlay; Ann Fleming Brown, director of Admissions; Therese McCarty, vice president for Academic Affairs; Gretchel Hathaway, chief diversity officer; and Professor Stephen Berk.
Alumni events are planned in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C. and, locally, in Clifton Park.
