Women's Commission presents discussion on women in academia

On Wed., May 7, the President’s Commission on the Status of Woman Scholars presents professor of psychology and director of the Health Professions Program Carol Weisse and her discussion “Is Academia Really One of the Least Stressful Jobs of 2014?”

Weisse will be discussing the stress and other issues associated with careers in academia, such as burnout and other issues, as well as the accuracy of CareerCast.com’s ranking of professor in the top 10 least stressful jobs of 2014.

The Women’s Commission aims to highlight and support scholarly accomplishments of women at Union College, and its seminar series seeks to provide a network allowing the discussion of topics dealing with issues related to women in academia.

This discussion will take place during common hour in Wold Center 128 where lunch will be provided. Any questions should be addressed to Sheri Lullo, Joy Wang or Krisanna Scheiter, Co-chairs of the Women’s Commission.
