Favorite class: That’s a close tie between Steve Sargent’s Medieval History Course or Stephen Berk’s WWI Class. Berk and Sarge are both first-rate scholars. Their ability to incorporate storytelling and humor in the classroom makes them brilliant lecturers. I would sit on the edge of my seat listening to them speak. And like so many Union professors, they’re wonderful human beings who care deeply about their students.

What I'll miss most: The people. From the students, to the faculty, to the administration and staff, Union is filled with kind, generous, talented people. I have learned so much in and out of the classroom from the amazing people around me.

Advice for incoming students: Do your best to live in the moment. It’s cliché to say, but these four years fly by so quickly. Soak it all in with an open and present mindset. College is supposed to change you, so enjoy the ride. Don’t waste your time at Union trying to plan the person you will become, but instead enjoy the discovery of finding out who you are. I promise that you’ll like what you find.

Life after Union: I’ll be spending nine months working for Bagru Textiles in Bagru, India, on a Minerva Fellowship. Bagru Textiles is a social entrepreneurship venture founded by another Union grad a little over four years ago. There’s so much potential for growth in this start-up, so I’m very excited to be acting as the customer relations and sales manager while I’m there. After that, who knows?
