Author Elizabeth Rosner to discuss latest work on Nov. 10

On Monday, novelist Elizabeth Rosner will visit campus to discuss her most recent book, Electric City, based on her hometown, Schenectady.

Rosner will speak in the Nott Memorial at 7 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public. Before the evening talk, she will discuss her new book at Sorum Book Club during common lunch in Sorum House.

Electric City tells a story of America’s scientific ingenuity and emotional ambition through immigrant experience and technological advancements.

In addition to Electric City, Rosner is the author of several other novels and collections of poems, including her debut novel, The Speed of Light (2003). That work has been optioned by actress Gillian Anderson, and is set to make the film adaptation her directorial debut. Rosner’s other works include Blue Nude (2010) and Gravity (2014).

Rosner received the Great Lakes Colleges New Writer’s Award for Fiction and the Harold U. Ribalow Prize in 2002, in addition to the Prix France Bleu Gironde in 2004.
