Shayna Han '15, Kyra DeTone '16, Sydney Giller '16, Antonia Batha '17, Hannah Gardella '15 and Sarah Adelmann, sexual violence prevention educator, were invited to the State Capitol Wednesday; for an announcement by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The governor wants to expand a new sexual consent policy to private colleges and universities. The students are members of student-led Committee on Consent Education and Awareness at Union. The state's public university system recently adopted a victim's bill of rights and a new sexual consent policy that requires a clear, affirmative agreement between partners.
