Robert Sharlet, the Chauncey Winters Professor of Political Science Emeritus, has authored a blog about the life and times of his brother, Jeff Sharlet, an ex-G.I. and leader of the G.I. anti-war movement during the Vietnam War. Jeff, who died in 1969, was founder and editor of Vietnam G.I., the first anti-war underground paper written by and for G.I.’s. Prof. Sharlet is at work on a book-length memoir. A book review by Brenda Wineapple, the Doris Zemurray Stone Professor of Modern Literary and Historical Studies, was published in the New York Times. She reviewed “Constance Fenimore Woolson: Portrait of a Lady Novelist,” by Anne Boyd Rioux, and the piece is available here.

Joseph Johnson, director of writing programs, is the recipient of the Marjorie Harding Memorial Fellowship from the Thoreau Society. He will be honored at an event this summer.
