Union to sponsor talk by award-winning writer Thomas Friedman

Union will help sponsor a talk by Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist and author Thomas Friedman at Proctors at 8 p.m. Feb. 9.

Friedman will discuss “"The Big Trends Shaping the World Today: Economics, Technology and Geopolitics.”

Tickets are priced from $35 to $55.

Winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, Friedman has covered stories from around the globe for the Times since 1981.

Vanity Fair called him “the country’s best newspaper columnist,” while Foreign Policy magazine stated “Friedman doesn't just report on events; he helps shape them.”

He is the best-selling author of numerous books, including “The World is Flat,” which sold more than four million copies. His next book, “Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist’s Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations,” was released Nov. 22.

Last spring, Union helped sponsored a talk at Proctors by Neil deGrasse Tyson, celebrated astrophysicist, cosmologist, author and science communicator.
