An article by Mary Carroll, professor of chemistry, Ann Anderson, the Agnes S. MacDonald Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and Brad Bruno, professor of mechanical engineering, was published in the Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology. The article focused on copper-containing aerogels for automotive catalysis applications. Co-authors included Zak Tobin ‘16, Luisa Posada ‘17, Aude Bechu ‘16 and Ryan Bouck ’16.
A technical note by Andrew Huisman, assistant professor of chemistry, was recently published with an international team of researchers, including former Union exchange student Thomas Berkemeier. The note describes an algorithm for extracting values with error bounds from complex experimental systems undergoing physical and/or chemical changes. Read the piece here.
