The COVID-19 pandemic has renewed national media interest in research by Josh Hart, associate professor of psychology, which suggests that people with certain personality traits and cognitive styles are more likely to believe in conspiracy theories.

Discover and Men’s Health magazines highlighted the research, published in September 2018 in the Journal of Individual Differences.

A story on the research first appeared on Union’s news site and has been featured in a number of national and international media outlets.

Hart joined Union in 2007.
