Publication Date

With the 2020 presidential election widely considered one of the most contentious in recent memory, the first presidential debate will undoubtedly be a topic of discussion throughout the country.

At Union, the discussion will take the form of a Presidential Debate Watch Party starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 as Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump square off in Cleveland for their first encounter.

Providing live commentary and answering questions during the debate will be three Union faculty members: Lewis Davis, Thomas Armstrong Professor Economics; Bradley Hays, associate professor of political science; and Deidre Hill Butler, associate professor of sociology.

The event is presented by the Union College Activist Network (UCAN), Civic Engagement Initiative and the Department of Political Science.

A Zoom link will be sent in an email to members of the Union community.
