From early music to jazz to Taiko drumming, March is a month full of music.

The Department of Music is presenting five events, free and open to all.

  • Friday, March 4, 6 p.m., Emerson Auditorium, Taylor Music Center: Zakuro-Daiko, the Union College Japanese Drumming and Global Fusion Band opens with “A Celebration of Winter.”
  • Wednesday, March 9, 8 p.m., Memorial Chapel: The Union College Jazz Ensemble presents “Horns of Plenty” with winds and brass from the Union College Orchestra.
  • Thursday, March 10, 5 p.m., Emerson Auditorium, Taylor Music Center: Students in AMU 230: Musical Theater and Opera Scenes give a class presentation.
  • Saturday, March 12, 7 p.m., Emerson Auditorium, Taylor Music Center: The Union College Early Music Ensemble presents music of Campion, Telemann, J.C. Bach and others.
  • Sunday, March 13, 4 p.m., Memorial Chapel: The Union College Choir and Orchestra present their winter concert.
