The weather’s warming, the magnolias are blooming. It’s time for ReUnion!
“Approximately 2,000 visitors will return to campus for ReUnion 2022 to revel in the spirit of togetherness and the joy of being on campus after a two-year pause,” said Ashley (Boland) Breslin, director of Alumni & Parent Engagement. “Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends will join in a weekend of receptions, picnics, a parade and much more!”
ReUnion runs May 20 – 22. Highlights include:
Connecting 50 Years of Union Women: Alumnae Panel & Reception (Friday, 1:30 p.m.): Join President David Harris for a panel discussion with women graduates of the last 50 years. Hear their unique perspectives on life, career and connection. A networking reception will follow.
Celebrate U (Saturday, 11 a.m.): A congratulatory celebration to award Alumni Council Gold Medals and recognize achievements of this year’s ReUnion classes. The ceremony closes with the Senior Handshake, a symbol of Union camaraderie through which the 50th ReUnion class welcomes the Class of 2022 into the alumni body.
Alumni Parade (Saturday, 10:30 a.m.): For more than 100 years, the Alumni Parade has been a highlight of ReUnion Weekend. Be part of the tradition and show your Union pride by marching with your classmates.
ReUnion Picnic & Kids Carnival (Saturday, noon): Enjoy a fun family event and relax while reminiscing with friends. Children of all ages will enjoy a special kids menu, face painting, balloon art and bounce houses. A cash bar will be available.
Lobster Fest (Saturday, 6:30 p.m.): Enjoy a traditional lobster dinner, including steamed lobster and littleneck clams, BBQ ribs, honey-thyme glazed chicken breast and all the fixings. A non-seafood option excludes lobster. Beer and wine is included with both options.
Fireworks (Saturday, 9 p.m.): Gather in the center of campus for a spectacular, musical fireworks display by Young Explosives Corporation.
