One of the best weekends on campus is almost here. Are you ready for ReUnion?

"We’ve got an incredible weekend of festivities planned,” said Molly Harbour, interim director of Alumni & Parent Engagement. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for this celebration of everything that makes Union remarkable.”

ReUnion 2026 (May 15-17) includes all the perennial favorites, like the Alumni Parade (10:30 a.m., Saturday), Celebrate U (11 a.m., Saturday) and fireworks display (9 p.m., Saturday).

Friday (May 15)

  • Welcome luncheon with President Elizabeth Kiss (11:30 a.m., Nott Memorial)
  • Forecasting the Future: Alumni Insights on the Evolving Market (4 p.m., Feigenbaum Center for Visual Arts)
  • Engineering & Computer Science BBQ (4:30 p.m., Roger Hull Plaza)

Saturday (May 16)

  • ReUnion picnic & Taste of Schenectady (Noon, Roger Hull Plaza)
  • Welcome back to campus tour (Grant Hall, 3 p.m.)
  • Food truck fest (6:30 p.m., Roger Hull Plaza)

Sunday (May 17)

  • "Iran and the Crisis in the Middle East" with Professor Stephen M. Berk (10 a.m., Nott Memorial)

During Celebrate U on Saturday, the Alumni Council will recognize the following individuals for their outstanding commitment and service to the College.

Alumni Gold Medals will be presented to:

Robert Fischman ’71 has served as head class agent for The Union Fund since 2014 and was an integral part of his 50th ReUnion class committee. He was also an engaged admissions volunteer for many years, interviewing countless prospective students. Fischman spent 15 years in sales leadership at Burroughs Corporation, which later became Unisys. This was followed by 21 years at Stratus Technology, where he became VP North America. He is president of Temple Beth El of Cedarhurst, N.Y.*

Judith Dein ’76 has served on the Board of Trustees for 14 years. She and her husband, Alan Reisch ’75, have supported the Reisch-Dein Digital Photo Lab, the Professor Therese A. McCarty Endowed Scholarship and the Charles Tidmarch Memorial Prize. Dein, who served as the 2026 Founders Day speaker and as a panelist for the Women’s Leadership Institute program, “Alumni Perspectives on Careers in Law,” is a federal magistrate judge with the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She served as its chief magistrate judge from 2009-2012.*

Louise Dunn ’76 is a longtime supporter of The Union Fund and was a member of the Alumni Council for many years, serving as president from 1997 to 2000. A multi-sport athlete during her time at Union, she went on to a career as an attorney. Dunn spent nearly 30 years with Allstate and in 2011 received the Daniel Mahoney Memorial Award from the Capital District Trial Attorneys Bar Association of Albany, N.Y., “for demonstrating outstanding commitment and service to clients, the bar and the profession.”

Mary K. (Carroll) Mahony ’86 was a chemistry major who went on to become the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry at Union. She co-directs the College’s cutting-edge Aerogel Lab and is past department chair and chair of the Faculty Executive Committee, and a member of the Planning & Priorities Committee. Mahony, who is a fellow and past president of the American Chemical Society, has received the College’s Stillman Prize for Faculty Excellence in Teaching and the Stillman Prize for Faculty Excellence in Research. Mahony was the first alumna hired as a tenure-track faculty member when she joined Union in 1992.

Jay Freeland ’91 is chair of the President’s Council and a member of the Board of Trustees. He previously chaired the College’s Powering Union campaign steering committee. He has supported The Union Fund and the Simon F. Nottidge ’91 Memorial Scholarship, created the Freeland Family Endowed Scholarship and is a dedicated volunteer through the Career Center. A private investor, corporate and non-profit board member and former leader of Nasdaq-listed companies, he retired from FARO Technologies as president, CEO and director in 2015.

* Indicates the award was bestowed in 2021 but will be officially presented this year.

An Alumni Rising Star Award will be presented to:

Peter Durkin ’16 was a member of Student Forum and served as a student trustee during his time at Union. He was also a Kenney Community Center volunteer and member of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. In 2015, he was instrumental in updating the College’s motto to include the word “sisters.” Durkin currently serves as class agent, as a member of his 10th ReUnion committee and was selected as an Illuminator during Union’s 2025 fall fundraising challenge. He has a strong background in product and project management across the public, private and non-profit sectors.

A Faculty and Staff Meritorious Service Award will be presented to:

Jennifer Currey is the Horace E. Dodge Chair of Electrical Engineering and an associate professor of biomedical engineering. She has helped lead the Summer Clinical Immersion Program with Albany Medical College, is past director of the Templeton Institute for Engineering and Computer Science and has served as Division IV chair on the Faculty Executive Committee. Currey is an active participant in the College’s alumni outreach and engagement programs. She joined the faculty in 2007 and currently serves as a faculty trustee on the Board of Trustees.
