Through the partnership, students at Union — as well as prospective students considering enrollment — can gain early admission to Simon and receive a guaranteed tuition scholarship, creating an efficient route to a highly prestigious graduate business degree.

Program participants can pursue a master’s degree in areas such as accounting, artificial intelligence in business, business analytics, finance and marketing analytics, and can complete their degree in one year after earning their bachelor’s degree from Union.

Simon Business School is consistently ranked among the top business schools in the U.S. and is recognized for delivering a strong return on investment for its graduates.

“At Union, we are constantly seeking ways to enhance our value proposition to students by enhancing the appeal of our academic portfolio,” said President Elizabeth Kiss. “This partnership will give our students the opportunity to build on the strength of their Union degree with an outstanding business education experience, making them even more career-ready upon graduation.”

The 4+1 Business Master’s Pathway program offers several benefits designed to simplify and accelerate the graduate admissions process, including:

  • a guaranteed scholarship covering at least 30 percent of tuition
  • waived application fee
  • no GRE or GMAT requirement
  • early access to graduate-level career workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions

There are two pathways for students to gain entry into the program:

  • Apply as a high school senior starting fall 2027 for direct entry as part of a first-year application to Union. Students will be selected based on a minimum high school GPA of 3.5, with additional emphasis on the rigor of high school coursework, especially, but not limited to, quantitative classes, and on overall fit for the specialized program.
  • Apply as a junior at Union with a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.25. Students must complete one calculus course and one statistics course with a grade of "B" or higher during their undergraduate program.

Mitchell Lovett, interim dean of the Simon Business School, said the partnership with Union was about removing barriers and creating opportunities.

“We’re giving talented students a clear, affordable and efficient pathway to a top-ranked business education,” Lovett said.

Students also gain early exposure to Simon’s career management resources, helping them build professional skills and connections before beginning their graduate studies.

“This partnership connects two upstate New York institutions of higher education that are rich in history and have a significant national and global impact,” said Jason Nevinger, interim vice president for Admissions, Financial Aid and Enrollment at Union.

“The quantitative focus and global outlook of Simon's approach to graduate business education complement Union's undergraduate program, which is rooted in the liberal arts while emphasizing analytical and problem-solving skills.”
