Notice of Non-Discrimination

Union College is committed to fostering a learning, living, and working environment free from discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Union College prohibits discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, (including shared ancestry), citizenship and immigration status, color, sex/gender, pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions, age, creed, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, an individual’s genetic information, domestic violence victim status, familial status, marital status, arrest and/or conviction record, military or veteran status, height, weight, and any other classification protected by law in the matters of admissions, employment, housing or services in the educational programs or activities it operates. Such applicable legal requirements include, but are not limited to, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) including the 2020 amendments to the Title IX regulations (34 CFR Part 106), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA), the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the Clery Act), New York State Education Law Article 129-B, the New York State Human Rights Law; and any other federal, state, or local laws, regulations, or ordinances that prohibit discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation.

Title IX Statement

It is the obligation of Union College to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in the College's educational programs and activities. Prohibited sex discrimination covers sexual harassment, including sexual assault, sexual violence, and sexual misconduct.

The following office has been designated to handle and coordinate inquiries regarding the College's Title IX and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
