The Adirondack Research Library serves as a repository for research materials which support the educational mission of the Kelly Adirondack Center of Union College. Materials at the library have a strong focus on the 20th century conservation movement within the Adirondack Park. The library grew out of a collection started by Paul Schaefer and other citizen advocates to provide resource materials for their conservation work. It was initially housed at Union College’s Schaffer Library. The collection is now managed jointly by the College librarians and the Kelly Adirondack Center staff. It is open to the Union community and to the general public.
