Upcoming speakers highlight different beliefs

Three upcoming speakers will bring diverse religious perspectives to campus.

Tonight Dr. Gail Rosseau, a neurosurgeon, and member of the board of the Interfaith Youth Core will be speaking at 5:30 p.m. in the Nott Memorial. The title of her talk is “To Bigotry No Sanction, to Persecution No Assistance: the Role of Religion in American Public Life.” Rosseau is a very eclectic learner with a passion for surgery and Interfaith work.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, another speaker from the Inter Faith Youth Core will be speaking in the lecture hall of the Olin Building at 6 p.m. Prerna Abbi will offer her insights into interfaith community service from the perspective of a secular humanist, raised as a Hindu.

On Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Nott Memorial, Le Ly Hayslip will be speaking about her life as a Buddhist in Vietnam and the United States. Hayslip is a member of the Global Village Foundation an organization interested in bringing education to rural Vietnam.
