John James Audubon’s “Magnificent Obsession” is on display in the Lally Reading Room in Schaffer Library until Nov. 30. The exhibition includes high quality prints of Audubon’s Birds of America.

Audubon’s works to be displayed Little Blue Heron, Red Shouldered Hawk, America Crow, Herring Gull, American Flamingo and the Golden Eagle.

A talk and reception will be held in the Lally Reading Room on Oct. 21 from 12:55-1:55 p.m.

“John James Audubon’s lasting significance in art, history and science is not simply due to his artistic mastery, tenacity and the overwhelming ambition of his undertaking to portray, as realistically as possible, all the birds of the American wilds,” said Sarah Mottalini, exhibitions assistant of the Union College Permanent Collection and Mandeville Gallery
