The Department of Theater and Dance will be presenting its spring show,
William Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost” from May 27 through May 30 at 6 p.m. and May 31 at 3 p.m. in Jackson’s Garden.
Putting a 1980s-themed twist on Shakespeare’s comedy, “Love’s Labour’s Lost” tells the story of King of Navarre and his three companions in their quest to swear off women and study and fast for three years instead. However, their plan proves difficult to carry out once the King meets the Princess of France and her ladies, resulting in all of the men falling in love.
“It’s a pretty standard Shakespeare comedy,” Sarang Sharma ‘15, who is playing King Ferdinand, said. “But outdoor shows are very fun and enjoyable and we hope the audience laughs at how wild and absurd the actions onstage are.”
Advance tickets will not be sold, however they are available on reserve at the Yulman Theater box office Monday through Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m., or by calling (518) 388-6545. Tickets will be sold at Jackson’s Garden an hour before the show. General admission is $10, while senior citizens, alumni and students are $7. Shows may be canceled due to weather.
