Robert Hislope, associate professor of political science, spoke addressed the Albany Torch Club on Jan. 6. The title of his talk was “Is Populism the New Fascism in Europe? Exploring the Rise of the Radical Right and the Threat to Democracy.”

A collection of poetry by Jordan Smith, the Edward E. Hale, Jr. Professor of English, was honored with the 3 Mile Harbor Press Book Award and will be published later this year. Little Black Train includes works from his “Eight Hats” sequence and also his “Hat & Key” collaboration with Walter Hatke, professor emeritus of visual arts. Read the announcement here.
