Megan M. Ferry, professor of Chinese and Asian Studies, just published “Applying systems thinking to address labor in language programs” in Second Language Research and Practice (SLRP) Vol. 6.
Jennifer Fredricks, professor of psychology, facilitated a workshop, “Fostering Engagement for All,” which was based on her recently edited book, “Sociocultural Perspectives on Student Engagement: Theory, Research and Practice” (Emerald Press), at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting in Los Angeles on April 10.
Kimmo Rosenthal, professor emeritus of mathematics, had an essay published in A Personal Anthology, which appears monthly online. A guest writer is invited to discuss a dozen short stories of their choosing. Among the writers presented are Gerald Murnane, Franz Kafka, Lydia Davis, Jorge Luis Borges, Djuna Barnes, Angela Carter, Samanta Schweblin and Cristina Rivera Garza.
Chris Whitehead, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Assistant Professor of Chemistry, gave an invited seminar on April 17 for the Chemistry Department at Hamilton College, “Synthetic Adventures: Metal Oxide Nanocrystal and Metal Sulfide Quantum Dot Formation.”
