DEPARTMENT: BIOLOGY
Union offers an exceptional range of courses in biological sciences—covering areas like bioengineering, cell and molecular biology, ecology, environmental biology and neurobiology. Students are encouraged to pursue independent research with faculty, leading to opportunities to present at the Steinmetz Symposium, attend national conferences and publish as co-authors in scientific journals. Research fellowships and on-campus work are also available, supported by grants from agencies like the NSF and NIH. And the Biology Department has partnered with others, including the departments of Visual Arts and Dance, to offer exciting interdisciplinary courses.
