Leahanna (Leah) Pelish is the Administrative Assistant for the Philosophy, Classics, Anthropology and Religious Studies Departments, joining Lamont in 2016 with great enthusiasm to be back at Union. Leah graduated summa cum laude from Union College in 2007, double majoring in Philosophy and Political Science. In 2010, Leah graduated with honors with her Masters Degree in Philosophy from SUNY Albany. Leah has taught philosophy as an adjunct professor at SUNY Albany; her areas of interest include intersectional feminism, ethics (especially applied), and bioethics and is currently enrolled in the MBA Program at Clarkson University. With any free time, Leah enjoys spending time with friends and family including Molly (their adorable cat), as well as enjoying the arts, music, crafting, thrifting and more. She is an activist focused on promoting diversity and inclusion and dismantling oppressive societal structures and norms especially regarding, race, sex, gender identity, sexuality, neurodivergence, mental illness and more with a particular focus on sexual violence. She is a new mom as of Sept 15, 2022, when she and her partner Rainer welcomed their first child, Vinson.
