Japanese Drumming Ensemble (Zakuro-Daiko)

The ensemble was established in 2007 under the leadership of resident ethnomusicologist Jennifer Milioto Matsue with the goal of bringing Japanese music and culture to life on campus. Shortly after its establishment, students agreed to call the group "Zakuro Daiko," which translates as "Garnet Drums." The group performs a type of Japanese ensemble drumming that is popular in Japan and throughout the world.

Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble meets weekly and performs throughout the year in both formal and informal settings. Experience in improvisation is desirable but not required. Instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to audition.
