This is a ceremony that includes senior class speakers and musical performances for the graduating seniors and their guests. Tickets are not required.
Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Location: Roger Hull Plaza, between Schaffer Library and the Nott Memorial
UPDATE: The weather decision has been made. Commencement will be held outdoors at Hull Plaza in front of Schaffer Library.
The procession begins at 9:30 a.m. with the Ceremony beginning at 10:00. a.m.
Some outdoor seating under tents will be available. There is indoor streaming available in the Reamer Campus Center Auditorium and in Karp Hall, Rooms 103 & 105.
8:30 a.m.: Students report to South Terrace Lane in front of Sorum House. Look for signs in alphabetical order based on your last name. A marshal will give you a "Line-up-and-Seating Card."
9:00 a.m.: Facutly assemble at Yulman Theater; platform party assembles in Old Chapel.
After the ceremony, diploma distribution will take place on Rugby Field to the west of the Nott Memorial.
There will be unlimited outdoor seating as well as seating under two large tents on either side of the Nott Memorial. Guests can also view the ceremony in the following three indoor airconditioned spaces: The Reamer Campus Center Auditorium, Karp Hall 103 and Karp Hall 105. No tickets are required. Post-commencement gatherings for graduates, faculty and guests will follow immediately after the ceremony. These gatherings should end before 1:00 p.m.
The College will broadcast the ceremony live, and guests can view it in real time, during good or bad weather. The link for the broadcast will appear on the main commencement web page. The unedited video archive will be posted on the College website for unlimited access.
In case of light rain, the ceremony will still be held outdoors. Guests can remain outdoors in the Library Plaza, or they may watch the ceremony indoors at the nearby Reamer Campus Center Auditorium, Karp Hall 103 and Karp Hall 105.
All campus visitors are expected to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a negative COVID test result (PCR or rapid test is acceptable) within 72 hours of the event. While there will be no formal verification when you arrive at Union, we respectfully request this requirement is honored to keep our campus community healthy. We ask that you do not attend if you feel unwell or have COVID-related symptoms. Masks will be optional. Frequent hand washing is recommended and encouraged during your visits.
