Methods & Tools Used:

Sentiment Analysis, Bigrams, Python, and Word Clouds.

Project Description:

This project reveals two lexical trends in Dracula to enable interpretive insight. The sentiment analysis shows each character’s fortunes over the course of the novel by visualizing trends in positive (upward) and negative (downward) references to characters. The bigram word cloud identifies the novel’s key phrases by humorously visualizing the novel’s most frequent word pairs.

Why Digital?

These digital methods enable these lexical trends to be visualized, which can accelerate insight and engage audiences. They also facilitate the identifying of textual trends, which may elude the naked eye.
