Financial Assistance

We are thrilled to launch the Fraternity and Sorority Life Opportunity Fund!

The Fraternity and Sorority community is committed to creating a more inclusive environment and seeks to support the student body and its organizations by reducing barriers to membership. In order to get the best members who align with the mission and values of our fraternal organizations, the Fraternity and Sorority Opportunity Fund will provide need-based grants toward membership dues to ensure that all Union students have the access to joining a sorority or fraternity, regardless of financial ability.

Interfraternity Council

  • IFC Recruitment

There are many opportunities to join the Interfraternity Council's 6 organizations. There are two main ways to join a chapter: the formal week-long recruitment process at the beginning of the Fall term that requires registration. The events, dates, and registration information can be found on social media, our website, and our student engagement platform U-Engage. Additionally, IFC encourages all chapters to recruit year-round, but will have their own limitations and policies surrounding these practices. For more information about "365 recruitment" you can reach out to IFC or individual chapter recruitment chairmen.

For questions about recruitment contact the Associate Director for Greek Leadership.

Panhellenic Council

  • Panhellenic Recruitment

Panhellenic sororities offer many opportunities for membership throughout the year. The greatest opportunities for membership happen during Primary Recruitment, which typically occurs during the second week of the Fall term. Students who are unable to participate in Primary Recruitment may have the opportunity to join a Panhellenic organization through the Continuous Open Bidding (COB) process.

*It is important to note that not all Panhellenic chapters will participate in COB.

Multicultural Greek Council

  • MGC Recruitment

Organizations under the Multicultural Greek Council accept potential new members through a new member education or intake process. Most MGC organizations start off with a series of events known as Informationals. These are events that students must RSVP for and will provide information about the organization and the process to join. Following an informational meeting, you can begin the interest process by interacting with the organizations through formal and informal events and programming.

Intake is conducted throughout the academic year. Interested individuals would have the opportunity to attend an informational meeting as a first year student, but are not eligible to accept an invitation for membership until they are sophomore status.

Service Fraternities

  • Alpha Phi Omega

Alpha Phi Omega (APO) is a great way to give back to the community. If you are interested in joining, visit APO's page on UEngage!
