Julie Greifer Swidler ’79, chair of Union's Board of Trustees, was recently honored as a Music Visionary of the Year by the UJA-Federation of New York. Swidler, who retired at the end of June, had served as executive vice president of business affairs and general counsel for Sony Music Entertainment since 2008.

A New York State Department of Environmental Conservation podcast, "DEC Does What?!" recently featured Abby Valachovic '20 in the episode, "For the Birds." Valachovic is a NYS DEC wildlife biologist.

As part of NASA's Aerogel Lecture Series, Mary K. Carroll '86, the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry, and Ann M. Anderson, the Agnes S. MacDonald Professor of Mechanical Engineering, gave a virtual seminar titled "Rapid Aerogel Fabrication Facilitates a Range of Applications."

Joanna Stern's new book, I Am Not a Robot: My Year Using AI to Do (Almost) Everything, has made the New York Times' list, "26 Nonfiction Books We're Excited About this Spring." Stern is The Wall Street Journal’s senior personal technology columnist and a member of the Class of 2006.

Dr. Jason Mouzakes '92 has been appointed president and CEO of Albany Medical Center Hospital. He has served as executive vice president since 2024 and was previously chief of the Division of Otolaryngology.

Aja Belle Schiller '25 recently released her debut short story. “Pigs” revolves around a young girl who finds herself and her identity through friendship and shared culture, based on her Chinese-American transracial adoptee experience in the small town of Snowmass.

Dr. Aaron Feingold '72 was featured in USA Today in the article, "Tales of a Cardiologist: When Medicine Meets the Human Heart."

Retiring Schenectady Police Chief Eric Clifford '94 was recently featured in a Daily Gazette story about a formal walkout ceremony in his honor.
