Grants:

Ann Anderson, the Agnes S. MacDonald Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Mary Carroll ‘86, the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry, and John Costa ‘17 have been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation's Small Business Technology Transfer Program for their project, “Monolithic Aerogel Designs for Daylighting Applications.” Learn more about their award here.

Panels and Events:

Jennifer Milioto Matsue, professor and chair of the Music Department, organized and chaired the panel, “Choreographed, Iconic, and Embodied Relationships: Interspecies Musicking and the Human-Animal Bond,” and delivered the paper, "Rhythm, Tempo, and Cadence: Bridging Two Bodies through Classical Dressage," at the Society of Ethnomusicology's annual conference held virtually.

Ellen Yu, chief information officer, was a panelist at a conference hosted by EDUCAUSE. “Journey to Leadership: Perspective from Asian Pacific American Leaders” focused on senior IT leaders and the diverse paths in their careers. They also shared perspectives and advice on how to create and honor a diverse workforce culture.

Publications and Journals:

Kimmo Rosenthal, professor emeritus of mathematics, has been named a staff reader at the literary journal Ploughshares. His name will appear on the journal masthead in the next print issue.
