She is actively engaged with professional organizations at the national level with EDUCAUSE and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative. She has served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Distance Education Technologies. In addition to her IT experience, Ellen was a member of the Peer Consulting Network at Maryland, which is part of the Center for Leadership and Organizational Change, where she volunteered as a consultant in their process consulting assignments.
