Zineb Hajjaj '20 conducts research in the Aerogel Lab.

Allison Stanec '21, Zineb Hajjaj '20, Mary K. Carroll, the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry, and Ann M. Anderson, the Agnes S. MacDonald Professor of Mechanical Engineering, have published a paper in the Journal of Visualized Experiments. The text portion of this peer-reviewed video protocol paper is now available online. Filming of the video portion has been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions on campus. Read the paper here.

Fran’Cee Brown-McClure, vice president for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, has been selected for this year’s class of the Albany Business Review’s 40 Under 40. Each year, the ABR recognizes 40 business leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate business acumen, leadership skills and community involvement. ABR staff and an advisory committee of 40 Under 40 alumni selected this year’s class from more than 250 nominations. The class will be honored at a virtual event May 14.

An article by Quynh Chu-LaGraff, professor of biology, with Bailey Balouch ‘17 as first author, and Halle Nagorsky '19, Truc Pham '20, and Thai LaGraff '20 as co-authors, was recently published in PLOS One. The research used patient donor cells to examine the cellular pathology of a neurological disease called INCL. Details of the work can be found here.

The fall 2020 issue of Union College won a gold award in Education Marketing from the Higher Education Marketing Report. The issue covered the centennial of Union radio, the celebration of Union women, and Engineering at 175 along with campus and alumni news. The magazine is edited by Charlie Casey, senior editor of strategic communications, and Erin DeMuth Judd, associate editor of strategic communications, and designed by Kris Fitzgerald of 2K Design.
