Pravini S. Fernando, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, was recently featured among the 2026 Emerging Investigators by the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Journal of Materials Chemistry C. As part of this recognition, the journal published a contributor profile highlighting Pravini and her research. Pravini also contributed an invited review article to the collection, “Quantitative and Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Conductive Atomic Force Microscopy”. The review examines recent advances in conductive atomic force microscopy for quantitatively probing electronic properties at the nanoscale, with particular emphasis on the growing use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for data analysis and automated experimental approaches.

Lori Marso, the Doris Zemurray Stone Professor of Modern Literary and Historical Studies, was interviewed by German philosopher, Friedrich Weissbach, for a special issue of Philosophie Magazin on Simone de Beauvoir. The interview, "Beauvoir Opens Up the Potential for Collective Resistance," appears alongside work by well-known public intellectuals such as Judith Butler, Manon Garcia, Silvia Federici, and Alice Schwarze.

Carol Weisse, the Ronald M. Obenzinger Professor of Psychology/Director of Health Professions, presented a poster “Unusual Perceptual Experiences at the End-of-Life: Caregiver Responses and Implications for Symptom Management,” at the Montreal International Palliative Care Congress. Co-authors were Kelly Melekis and Elizabeth Cepeda from the University of Vermont.
