Research interests
Gender and sexuality, intersectionality, health equity, discrimination
My research blends social, health, and community psychology to better understand — and improve — well-being for diverse communities. I study topics like prejudice and discrimination, sexual and reproductive health, inclusive sex education and health promotion, and the role of culture, media, and lived experiences in shaping our attitudes and behaviors. I’m also interested in how factors like self-efficacy, sense of community, and internalized stigma influence well-being across differences in sex, gender, sexuality, (dis)ability, neurodivergence, race, and culture. As a community psychologist by training, I often utilize community-based mixed-methods in my work.
Teaching interests
I teach courses in both psychology and gender, sexuality, and women’s studies at Union. I’m interested in teaching tied to gender and sexuality (Psychology of Gender, LGBTQ+ Studies, Human Sexuality, Global Perspectives on Queerness), multicultural psychology, health psychology, community psychology, and social psychology.
