The Student Activities staff provides support to student leaders as they develop their leadership skills and create a variety of events and activities. It is the goal of the Office of Student Activities to create a comfortable environment for the students of Union College to share, create, and implement their own ideas. All programs sponsored by the Office of Student Activities are created and implemented by students with the guidance, support, and direction of the Student Activities staff. Our mission is to foster the development and understanding of leadership through a hands-on, experiential approach. Through this approach, students will learn and understand their: ability to think critically, identity development, place and role in their communities, and approach to leadership.
Union's 125+ clubs and organizations find their home in Student Activities. Each of these groups is recognized by Student Forum, Union's student government, and run by student leaders. Clubs and organizations plan more than 1800 meetings, practices, and events each year. All clubs have an "all-comers" policy which allows every Union student the opportunity to participate in meetings and events at any time.
Student Activities also coordinates the Leadership Experience Pre-Orientation. This program is packed with fun activities and events that are designed to help new students discern their co-curricular interests, learn important leadership skills, and get to know their peers.
