Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning (UCALL)

Our mission is to provide opportunities for intellectual development, cultural stimulation and social interaction for adults through courses, excursions and special events.

October 1 - November 14, 2024

Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning (UCALL) is a welcoming and inclusive membership organization that provides learning and enrichment opportunities for adults through courses, special events and cultural excursions.

UCALL courses are held during the fall, winter and spring terms, with pop-up lectures and trips offered throughout the year. Our courses cover a wide range of topics and are presented by volunteers from the UCALL membership, Union faculty and community leaders. All courses are non-credit with no exams or pre-requisites.

Established in 1988, UCALL furthers the Union College tradition of academic excellence, intellectual curiosity and dedication to the life of the mind.

What our members are saying.....

“I wanted to thank you for the wonderful classes that were offered this spring. I enjoyed the topics and the teachers‘ excellent lectures. I’m looking forward to the new offerings next session.” - Irit Magnes

“In a search for diversity in my 'almost retired' place I find this educational opportunity perfect to keep on absorbing new knowledge into my later years. Warm, inviting environment. Love being on campus and surrounded by people who share my thoughts on being a lifelong learner.” - Marcia Morrett

“I found the Big History course quite amazing. Also, it was really good to have the series of recordings available later, since there was so much interesting material. And the book list has been really good to have!”

“The courses are varied, rich in content, with presenters who are both expert and passionate about their subjects. I am looking forward to the next set of course listings with great anticipation. Although I now live in New Jersey, I grew up in Schenectady and am very happy to be able to participate, through the online courses, in this adult learning program coming from my hometown.” - Donna Kuba
