Areas of expertise

Chemical recycling of plastics; analytical assays of pharmaceuticals; and waste water treatment.

Research interests

My experience encompasses broad but distinctive interdisciplinary areas which are highly relevant to the development of solutions for priority global challenges. I am committed to the development of tailored green technologies and novel analytical assays to mitigate against environmental pollution. I am participating in several projects concerned with plastics and agricultural waste pretreatment and recycling using sustainable and high throughput approaches including microwave assisted depolymerization and reactive extrusion. This is in addition to the development of characterization and validated protocols for the analysis of depolymerized products including (HPLC, DSC, TGA, FTIR, NMR, GPC).
