Bio

Sabrina Balbuena, M.S. in Ed., LMHC received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College in 1999. She received her master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from The College of Saint Rose in 2001. She has experience working in community agencies and private practice that focus on mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, family issues, and more. Her areas of clinical interest include multicultural issues; grief work; managing interpersonal relationships; developing
healthy coping skills; trauma and sexual assault. She began working in higher education in 2009 at The College of Saint Rose Counseling and Psychological Services Center.

Sabrina tends to use a holistic wellness approach, addressing each area of a person’s life (e.g. mental, emotional, financial, spiritual, etc.). Through her experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), she helps people to find a balance between accepting their present state and working toward goals.

Sabrina graduated as a first generation college student. She is also a first generation American. She uses the pronouns she/her/hers.

In her personal life, Sabrina enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, being outdoors, and doing arts and crafts.
