Congratulations on your decision to attend Union College! We are excited to welcome you to our global community. If you plan to attend Union in F-1 student status, you will need a Form I-20 which is issued by the International Advising Office. If you will attend in J-1 exchange visitor status, you will need a Form DS-2019, also issued from International Advising. Your immigration status determines which immigration document you receive and may affect certain requirements during your time in the United States. These documents are required to apply for an F-1 or J-1 visa, if you need one.
U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and Canadian citizens do not need a visa to study at Union.
Shortly after submitting your enrollment deposit, you will receive access to a Union email account and instructions for completing the immigration document process. Begin this process as soon as possible after submitting your enrollment deposit so that you have enough time to receive your Form I-20 or DS-2019 and apply for a visa, if necessary.
