International Advising

Global Orientation

Global Orientation is required for all incoming international students and is designed to help you get settled at Union, connect with other international students, and prepare for your transition to life on campus. For the 2027-2028 Academic Year, Global Orientation will take place on September 2 and 3, 2027, after which students will transition directly into First-Year Orientation (Sept. 3 through Sept. 7).

Your days will generally include a mix of welcome sessions, important immigration and academic information including setting up a bank account and cell phone, campus tours, community-building activities, and opportunities to meet other students and members of the Union community. Meals will be provided via meal vouchers during Global Orientation and through the beginning of First-Year Orientation, and your regular meal plan will begin for the year with dinner on September 7, 2027.

You must plan to participate fully in all Global Orientation sessions and activities. Additional information about what to expect will be shared with you before your arrival to Union.
