The Los Angeles Times published an op-ed by Chris Chabris, associate professor of psychology, and Michelle Meyer, professor of bioethics, law and policy at Union Graduate College, on the concept of "nudge" -- an effort to get people to make choices that benefit themselves without using coercion.

Burns exhibit features Latin American art studying migration

A new exhibit in the Burns Arts Atrium features Latin American art that examines the experiences of migration globally and the people, ideas and objects that pass from one culture to another.

“Reality of Placement” is on display in the gallery, located in the Visual Arts building, until Nov. 22.

Volunteer of the Week: Salman Syed '14

Salman Syed '14 is this week's Kenney Community Center Volunteer of the Week.

This past summer, Salman volunteered to help rising high school seniors in Union's Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) develop research and public speaking skills. Together, their hard work culminated in a presentation about neurological disorders. He also volunteers at a local clinic, helping the primary care physicians at the practice migrate to electronic health records.

MacArthur "Genius" set to kick off Chamber Concert Series

Pianist Jeremy Denk kicks off the Union College Concert Series 2013-14 Season in Memorial Chapel on Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m.

Denk was honored this week as one of 24 recipients of the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship, commonly known as the MacArthur genius grants. Read more about the award in the Los Angeles Times
