Eunmi Ko and Thea Lobo will perform a midday concert

Songeaters

Eunmi Ko and Thea Lobo will perform a midday concert Friday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. for free in Emerson Auditorium.

These highly praised women will be performing as, "Songeaters," a voice-piano duo that threads together a diverse repertoire, seeking to explore the widest range of perspectives and experiences. The aim of this performance is to pair selected popular chestnuts with lesser-known gems and newly-composed responses that expand the world of classical song and deepen understanding.

Acclaimed pianist Eunmi Ko has done many praised performances with a wide range of piano repertoire from premieres of new works by living composers to the traditional and rarely played piano works. She is co-founder and co-director of new music ensemble Strings & Hammers, teaches and serves as co-advisor of the New-Music Consortium at the University of South Florida.

Grammy-nominated mezzo-soprano Thea Lobo has recently been featured in musical performances with the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. Her dedication to new music, art song, and early music, has allowed her to be invited to the Carmel Bach Festival as an Adams Fellow, a prizewinner at the Bach Vocal Competition for American Singers, and a grant recipient of the Julian Autrey Song Foundation.
